Help installing a dixie horn

To many, the horned hand salute is “the Satan Sign”. Speculation was rife when Bush, his wife and daughter, Jenna flashed the Satan sign at January, inaugural ceremonies. Norway’s Nettavisen explained that the symbol was simply the “Hook ’em, Longhorns” sign that the president and his daughter flashed to the University of Texas marching band as it passed the podium. Bush himself once explained his use of the hand gesture as the sign of the University of Texas Longhorns. George Bush could be a fan of U of T, but he never attended it. Supporters and detractors alike know that he received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, and that the University of Texas law school turned him down because his record at Yale was so mediocre. While attending Yale, Bush joined a satanic cult called Skull and Bones. Another oddity about Bush claiming he uses the “Hook ’em, Longhorns” salute is the salute depicted looks nothing like the typical Longhorns salute given by U of T students.

Apr 28,  · Been using the same stock 6v horn on 12v on my 38 chevy since i bought it in Still loud and obnoxious. Been using the stock 6v dual horns on my 50 chevy SD for 5 years now. Had one that wouldnt work at first till I dropped it a few times to loosen up the vibrator. Been working fine since.

Brand New in the Box The speed shop was suppose to wire it up for me but I found out if it’s not his Idea he doesn’t want to do it. Anyway, I want to hook it up independent of my stock horns on my Challenger. The horn is grounded to the body when it is attached. There is one terminal which would be the power to it. I have a horn button switch with a hot and ground wire. I have a 3 prong relay that is also grounded to the body.

I did some reading up on it and just want to be sure. I have the horn fused at 10 amps the recommended one. I read that you need a direct line to the positive of the battery to one terminal of the relay. The other terminal would be a hot wire coming from the switch which I will tap into the cig lighter leads. Than one wire goes from relay to the horn terminal. Does anyone know where each wire goes on the Relay?

Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Bush displays the Hook ’em Horns. The first known usage of the “Hook ’em” phrase can be attributed to the University of Minnesota through the s. Minnesota didn’t trademark the phrase or the hand signal. Neither did the University of Iowa. Thanks for postin the pic, IPO. Anyway, the difficulty depends on what you want to do I mean you can just chop the wires off the clock spring and not hook up your horn, and then its just a matter of getting in on straight, bolting it down, and I think maybe trimming the steering column covers I think I’m going to have to, I’m not done yet. But yeah, to get the steering column covers off, you need to take off the bottom part of the dash just above your knees.

There are only 4 bolts, but 2 of them are behind button garnishes that you need to pop out. You can find all that in the service manual. You don’t really need to disconnect the hood release like it says though. Now, the difficulty goes up if you want to keep all the wires on your clock spring in-tact, because you can’t remove the wires that run into the clock spring.

That means unplugging a wire from the diagnostic unit under the center console and then yanking it out through it and from under the dash. Thats a real pain in the ass because theres clips and ties hold it abuot ever 4 inches it seems like its like 3 feet long , and some are way under the center console I just used a long screw driver and hammered the clips out of their holes. All in all, I think it was only really difficult the first time because I didn’t really know what I was doing. I could probably do it all on someone elses car in an hour or two maybe.

I spent a lot of extra time figuring out where wires go, what I need to splice for the horn, etc.

Students and alumni of the university employ a greeting consisting of the phrase “Hook ’em” or “Hook ’em Horns” and also use the phrase as a parting good-bye or as the closing line in a letter or story. The gesture is meant to approximate the shape of the head and horns of the UT mascot, the Texas Longhorn Bevo. The sign is made by extending the index and pinky fingers while grasping the second and third fingers with the thumb.

The arm is usually extended, but the sign can also be given with the arm bent at the elbow. The sign is often seen at sporting events, during the playing of the school song ” The Eyes of Texas “, [3] and during the playing of the school fight song ” Texas Fight “. It is one of the most recognized hand signals of all American universities.
